Benefits Of Prayers

Beyond its ritualistic aspects, Salah offers a myriad of spiritual and mental benefits that enrich the lives of believers and foster a deeper sense of connection with the Divine.

Inner Peace And Tranquility
Through the act of Salah, Muslims find solace and serenity in the midst of life’s challenges and tribulations. The rhythmic movements, recitations, and moments of reflection during Salah provide a sanctuary of peace amidst the chaos of the world.

In Surah Ar-Ra’d (13:28), Allah says, “Those who have believed and whose hearts are assured by the remembrance of Allah. Unquestionably, by the remembrance of Allah hearts are assured.” This verse highlights the profound effect of remembering Allah during Salah, which brings tranquillity to the hearts of believers.

Similarly, in Surah Al-Ankabut (29:45), Allah states, “Recite, [O Muhammad], what has been revealed to you of the Book and establish prayer. Indeed, prayer prohibits immorality and wrongdoing, and the remembrance of Allah is greater. And Allah knows what you do.” Here, Salah is depicted as a means of prohibiting immorality and wrongdoing, while also serving as a form of remembrance of Allah, which brings greater peace and tranquillity to the worshippers.

Furthermore, the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ emphasised the importance of Salah in finding inner peace. He said, “The coolness of my eyes is in Salah” (Sahih Muslim). This hadith underscores the profound emotional and spiritual satisfaction that comes from engaging in regular prayers.
